Assignments Panel

Lite Editor Tool

The Assignments Panel is the central level view for J2 Tags. It shows tags in the current level and lists the Actors or Components that use each selected tag.

Reference listShows Actors or Components that use the selected tag.
Object search and filtersNarrow the reference list by object name, class, or filter menu.
Context menuReplace, remove, resolve, open, or run related actions depending on edition and tag type.

The Assignments Panel has separate context menus for tags and references. Use the tag context menu when you want to operate on the selected tag, such as replacing references across the current result set.

Use the object context menu when you want to act on one listed Actor, Component, or Asset reference.

Review tags in the current level

  1. Open the panel after level edits, imports, or tag changes.
  2. Search or expand the tag tree.
  3. Select a tag.
  4. Review the referenced Actors or Components.
  5. Remove, replace, or inspect references as needed.
  6. Enable overlay highlighting when spatial context matters.

When Pro is loaded, the panel adds production actions and richer tag sources.

ActionPurpose
DiagnosticsOpens the Tag Diagnostics panel.
ManagerOpens the selected TagSet Tag in the Tag Manager when possible.
Resolve TagsConverts undefined level tags into Quick Tags or TagSet Tags.
Resolve RedirectsFinds old redirect names and replaces them with their current target tags.
Execute BehaviorRuns assigned behaviors for tags that have behavior mappings.
Add to Tag SetPromotes selected undefined tags into an existing TagSet.
